‘Buy El Paso’ campaign aims to sell merits of local businesses amid COVID-19 pandemic

Getting people to buy from El Paso-owned businesses is the aim of a campaign recently launched with federal money El Paso received to help businesses weather the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s also aimed at getting more businesses to buy into the city’s three-month-old Pledge to Safety program — with eight required COVID-19-related safety measures.

The Better Business Bureau Paso del Norte launched the “Buy El Paso” campaign Sept. 2.

It comes at a time when many El Paso businesses are struggling to survive because of the effects of the spring COVID-19 lockdowns and because more people are choosing to shop on and other large retail online sites during the pandemic.
